Brazil and the USA finish their Copa America preparations with a friendly game in Orlando on Wednesday. Brazil come into the game off the back of a thrilling 3-2 win over Mexico at the weekend. Teenage superstar Endrick was a Brazilian hero with a 96th minute winner, just 3 minutes after Mexico had seemingly secured a draw through Guillermo Martínez Ayala. Meanwhile, the USA suffered an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at home to Colombia, their worst defeat in over 15 years.
Brazil have won 18 of their 19 games against the US, with their only defeats coming in the 1998 Gold Cup. The teams last met in 2018, with Neymar and Roberto Firminio securing a 2-0 friendly win.

Despite that victory over Mexico, Brazil's recent results have been largely disappointing. They have won just 2 of their last 7 games, a run that has included three successive defeats in World Cup qualification. However, they are unbeaten in their last three, including a very impressive 1-0 win over England and a thrilling 3-3 draw in Spain. Following his last minute winner against Mexico, Endrick has now scored in three consecutive games and looks to be a key part of manager Dorival Júnior's long term plans.
The United States have had a mixed bag of results in recent games. Saturday's humilation against Columbia means they have won four and lost four of their last eight games. During that run they have record impressive victories over the likes of Ghna and Mexico, but disappointing reverses to Slovenia and Trinidad & Tobago. Ahead of the Copa America, fans will be encouraged by the US' recent tournament displays. They won the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League and have lost just one of their last 11 competitive games. However, their results in friendlies have been less impressive and they have now lost three of their last four.

United States coach Gregg Berhalter seems likely to make wholesale changes following the Columbia defeat. Captain Christian Pulisic and Timothy Weah (who scored the consolation goal against Colombia) could be rested, whilst the entire US defence could be changed following a dreadful collective display at the weekend. Norwich City's Josh Sargent is still absent through injury and looks likely to miss the Copa America.
As for Brazil, Dorival Jr has stated that he wants all of his squad to get some game time during the international window. That means back up keeper Bento and Danilo are virtually guaranteed to start the game after being placed on the bench for the win over Mexico. Aside from that, Dorival Jnr is likely to give his star names a run out before the start of the Copa America. So expect to see Vinicius Jnr, Rodrygo and Endrick in their starting eleven. That means no place in the line up for the likes of Douglas Luiz, Raphinha and Pepe.
