Alexander Zverev of Germany will face Ugo Humbert of France on Sunday in the fourth round of the 2025 Australian Open. Zverev cruised to his fifth consecutive straight-set win on Friday, downing Jacob Fearnley of Great Britain 6-3 6-4 6-4. Like his previous wins over Lucas Pouille and Pedro Martinez Portero, the No.2 ranked Zverev systematically broke down Fearnley by winning big rallies and forcing him to commit unforced errors. The Brit committed 34 unforced errors in the match and converted just two break points. Zverev, meanwhile, won 58 points on his first serves and had a stretch where he won 12 straight points. For the fifth time in six matches, Humbert conquered Arthur Fils, beating his compatriot 4-6 7-5 6-4 1-0 ret. in the third round. Humbert won 105 points in the match, a large portion of which came from his first serves (50 points). With the win, the Frenchman is guaranteed of his best finish at the Australian Open and in any Grand Slam tournament.
