The Nebraska Cornhuskers (17-14) and UCF Knights (17-16) will face off today in the first College Basketball Crown Championship game at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Fans can enjoy the action when the game gets underway at 5:30 p.m. EST on FOX.
For the Cornhuskers, the season did not end the way they had hoped, with five consecutive losses and six in their last seven. But then they got a chance to end the season on a better note with an invitation to a new postseason tournament, the College Basketball Crown. After beating Arizona State in the first round 86-78, they dispatched Georgetown in the second round 81-69 and earned a spot in the finals with a win over Boise State 79-69. Seniors Brice Williams and Juwan Gary have led the way through the tournament, combining for 45+ points in the first two games and 35 points against Boise State.
They’ll face a UCF team in the finals, and they are just as eager to show they are better than their regular-season record would indicate. Their journey through the CBC was a bit more challenging as they squeaked by Oregon State in the first round 76-75 before taking care of Cincinnati in the second 88-80. But they needed overtime to beat Villanova 104-98 to earn their spot in the finals.

Our UCF Knights vs Nebraska Cornhuskers Prediction
These two teams appear to be somewhat evenly matched. Both have capable offenses and aren’t bad on defense; each has won 20 games and has looked solid in tournament play. But neither has shot the ball particularly well. In a championship game, it is more likely that we see teams slow the pace down and focus more on defense. I could go either way on who will win, but whoever does will do so in a low-scoring contest.
