The UCF Knights will try to put an end on their three-game losing skid as they visit No.9 Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium. After defeats at the hands of Colorado 48-21, Florida 24-13, and Cincinnati 19-13, the Knights are pitted against another top-caliber football program, the still undefeated and CFP contender Iowa State. UCF will march into the game still one of the best running teams in the nation at 268 rushing yards per game. Unfortunately, they also own among the worst metrics against the pass, allowing teams to average 246 passing yards (103rd) and 23.7 (125th) completion per contest. Iowa State has stayed spotless after six games and a big reason for this dominant start is their imposing defense that only allowed 11.0 points per game (5th). Quarterback Rocco Bercht has also put up stellar numbers in his second season, passing for 1,438 yards with 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Iowa State is now Bowl Game eligible after earning their sixth win over West Virginia, 28-16, in their last game, but they can improve their standings in the College Football Playoff ranking if they can sustain this success until the end of the season.
