Turkey and Portugal will be looking to make it two wins from two games when they meet in Dortmund on Saturday. Whilst victory would not technically secure a top two place for either side, it would essentially guarantee them a place in the last sixteen. Both teams had thrilling Gameday One encounters and both needed late goals to seal their victories. Turkey defeated Georgia 3-1, but needed to withstand a ferocious late onslaught from the Georgians before scoring a breakaway goal in the 95th minute. Portugal had an even bigger scare against the Czech Republic, as they needed an injury time winner from Francisco Conceicao to complete a 2-1 victory.Limited Offer. Currently at BetMGM

Turkey - Portugal: Form Analysis
Victory over the Czechs means that Portugal have now won 13 of their 15 games since their 2022 World Cup quarter final exit to Morocco. More significantly, they have won all 11 of their competitive games in that period and were the only team to come through qualification with a 100% record. At the last European Championships, Portugal came through a tough group that included Germany and France, but fell to a 1-0 defeat against Belgium in the last 16. At the previous tournament (Euro 2016), they produced a memorable run to the final, culminating in a 1-0 defeat of France 1-0 in extra time, which saw them lift the title for the first time in their history.
Turkey also topped their qualification group, largely thanks to a 4-0 final day victory over Latvia, which saw them pip Croatia to top spot by just one point. However, their subsequent results have been less than impressive, meaning they come into the game having lost three of their previous five matches. Their best ever performance at the tournament came in 2008, when they reached the semi finals before losing 3-2 to Germany in a thrilling encounter.

Portugal manager Roberto Martinez caused a bit of surprise when he selected PSG full back Nuno Mendes as part of a three man defence for the Czech Republic game. The experiment did not quite work and Portugal looked somewhat disjointed at times, so Martinez may decide to play Goncalo Inacio in the position this time out. Legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo also struggled against the Czechs, but given his phenomenal record over the years, he is expected to retain his place ahead of Gonçalo Ramos and Diogo Jota. That means the likes of Pedro Neto, Ruben Neves, Joao Paulinha and Matheus Nunes will have to settle for places on the bench.
Turkey will once again look at teenage sensation Ardu Guler for inspiration. The Real Madrid youngster was superb against Georgia, capping his display with a 25 yard wonder strike that is likely to be a goal of the tournament contender. Despite not being at their best in that game, Turkey boss Vincenzo Montella is likely to name an unchanged starting eleven as he looks to secure a spot in the last 16.
