Turkey opens Euro 2024 against Georgia in an incredibly poor run of form. The Crescent Stars are looking to get back to the form they showed the last time they were on German soil, when they upset the Germans by a 3-2 scoreline in November. Since then, the Turks have lost three matches and drawn two, falling to Hungary, Austria and Poland and drawing with Wales and Italy.
Georgia enters its first major international tournament with absolutely nothing to lose. The Crusaders nearly qualified for Euro 2020, but missed out in a playoff with North Macedonia. This time, they made it, and they bring a stronger side than what missed out on the Euros thanks to young star Khivcha Kvaratshkelia. Fans of Serie A will recognize Kvaratshkelia, as he plies his trade at Napoli and has developed into the brightest star in Georgia's footballing history.
Georgia has to get something out of this match to have any chance of progressing to the knockouts. Beating Portugal is likely a fantasy, so the Georgians will likely bet everything on getting a result. Getting plus money on a double chance with a desperate team offers real value. The Crusaders know that three points makes passage almost certain, while a tie will at least keep their tournament hopes alive.

Turkey - Georgia: Form Analysis
Turkey's form has been simply wretched in 2024. Even with that mentality, Georgia has a defined path to the knockout stage: Don't lose to either Turkey or Czechia and hope an already-qualified Portugal runs out a B side in the final group stage match.
Turkey is likely a tournament away from really making a run. The Crescent Stars don't seem to have come together as one yet, and that's what comes from trusting a lot of young players at once.
