Tigres UANL is one of the big guns in this year's Leagues Cup. The Mexican club's confidence has been boosted by the start of the Liga MX Apertura, with 3 wins and 1 draw in 4 rounds. André-Pierre Gignac's team-mates have not taken their foot off the gas in the Leagues Cup. They finished top of their group, beating Puebla (2-1) and Inter Miami (2-1). And Veljko Paunovic's team continued their fine form in the Round of 16, defeating Pachuca (1-0). The team can now look forward to the competition's Round of 8. New York City now stands in their way. The match takes place this Wednesday at the Red Bull Arena. 

New York City FC aren't exactly shining in the early stages of the Leagues Cup. In the group phase, NYCFC opened with a penalty shoot-out win over Queretaro, before losing to FC Cincinnati (4-2). In the Round of 16, they again had to wait for a penalty shootout to defeat the New England Revolution. Currently in 5th place in the MLS Eastern Conference, Nicholas Cushing's men are not necessarily in great form. They remain on a 4-game winless run in the North American league. They will certainly struggle against a team with lofty ambitions in this Leagues Cup.
