Tennessee Volunteers vs Oklahoma Sooners Prediction & Picks - NCAA

We’ll get our first taste of how Oklahoma may fare in the SEC this Saturday when the Sooners host the Tennessee Volunteers at 7:30 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. This game will be the fifth meeting between these two schools, a series in which Oklahoma leads 3-1, with the last game in 2015. Both teams enter the game ranked (No. 6—Tennessee, No. 15 Oklahoma) with undefeated records, but they did not take similar paths. The Vols have played an incredibly soft schedule (vs. Chattanooga, vs. NC State, vs. Kent State), outscoring them a combined 191-13.

So, when you look at the stat sheets and see the Vols have the No. 1 scoring offense, No. 2 total offense, No. 3 rushing offense, No. 2 total defense, and No. 3 scoring defense, don’t be too impressed. With the schedule they’ve played, their stats should be ridiculous. However, while the stats may paint too rosy of a picture for the Vols, it is hard to find the positives in Oklahoma’s stats. The offense ranks 108th in the country with 325 yards of offense per game. They struggle to get the passing game on track (166.3 ypg) and aren’t much better at running (159 ypg).

While their schedule has been more challenging than Tennessee’s, the Sooners have not played anyone special either.
