Two SEC rivals go at it as the Tennessee Volunteers battle the LSU Tigers on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Ranked 5th in the latest AP Poll, Tennessee (22-5) has won five of their last six games, including big wins against Florida and Texas A&M. On the other hand, LSU (14-13) has lost 11 of their last 14.
The Volunteers will again rely on point guard Zakai Zeigler to run the show. The senior guard is averaging 13.5 points and a team-high 7.5 assists. Look for spitfire guard Chaz Lanier to turn on the heat as well, after finishing with 30 points in their recent win against Texas A&M.
Meanwhile, the Tigers' leading scorer Camryn Carter is coming off a paltry 7-point outing in the loss to Florida. Carter is averaging 16.9 points this season but has a mountain to climb against Tennessee's Top 8 defense.
Both teams are not known for their offense. Tennessee only has a 113.9 offensive rating (55th in the country), while LSU has 107.7 (177th). This won't be a high-scoring game, but the Volunteers are heavily favored to win against the struggling Tigers.
