Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands will duke it out with Holger Rune of Denmark on Thursday, where the winner advances to the semifinal of the 2025 Indian Wells Open. Griekspoor bagged her seventh win in eight matches with a 7-6(4) 6-1 win over Yosuke Watanuki of Japan in the fourth-round. The Dutch again busted out the incredible shot-making under pressure he had to beat Giovanni Perricard and Alexander Zverev to edge Watanuki in a back-and-forth first set. Sensing that his opponent had lost the will to win, Griekspoor applied more pressure until his Japanese foe began to self-destruct. The win pushed Griekspoor to this third quarterfinal this year after also reaching the final eight at Montpellier and Dubai. Meanwhile, Rune is fresh off a signature win over Stefanos Tsitsipas, beating the reigning Dubai Tennis champion in straight sets 6-4 6-4. Rune banked on his serves to win most of the 61 points he scored against his Greek opponent. The Dane scored 30 points on his first serves and converted key breakpoints that gave him all the edge he needed to run away with the win.
