The second round of the 2024 Wimbledon Open will provide a bit of nostalgia as Gael Monfils of France goes head-to-head with fellow ATP Tour veteran Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland on Court No.2 at All-England Club in London, England. Gael Monfils hurdled the first round of the Wimbledon Open for the 10th time in his career after vanquishing compatriot Adrian Mannarino 6-4 3-6 7-5 6-4. The former top-10 player scored 26 of his 49 winners on ground stroke and drilled in 16 aces to put Mannarino away for good. Wawrinka also cruised to a 6-3 7-5 6-4 win over Charles Broom of Great Britain. The Swiss overcame 38 unforced errors by scoring 102 points, including 36 winners against Broom, who just made his Grand Slam debut. Wawrinka hopes this tournament at All-England Club will give him his first Wimbledon Open title that would complete a rare career Grand Slam.
