Out to prove that he’s the best singles player in the world, world’s No.1 Jannik Sinner will kick off his pursuit for Grand Slam No.2 on Tuesday as he plays McKinzie McDonald of the United States in the first round of the 2024 US Open. Sinner enters the US Open fray riding a huge wave of momentum after he racked up six consecutive wins en route to winning the 2024 Cincinnati Masters. After bagging the Australian Open title early this year, Sinner has a chance to add another hard-court Grand Slam crown this year, especially if he can maintain his splendid play all the way to the finish. McDonald competed in three hard-court tournaments before the US Open championship, winning four out of seven matches. The 29-year-old American made it to the second round at the US Open last year.
