Jannik Sinner has an opportunity to get some payback on Andrey Rublev on Saturday as the two top-notch ATP campaigners meet again for the second time in a week with a spot in the semifinal of the 2024 Cincinnati Masters at stake. Roughly a week after failing to defend his Montreal Masters title, Sinner gets a chance to exact some revenge on the guy who denied him a back-to-back title at the National Bank Open, Andrey Rublev. Sinner reached his 9th quarterfinal of the year without breaking a sweat as he was gifted with a walkover win against Jordan Thompson of Australia. Sinner, who also beat qualifier Alex Michaelsen 6-4, 7-5 in the second round, basically has one full day of rest to fully prepare for his rematch with his Russian rival. Rublev is no stranger to quick rematch, having just scored his second victory in a week against Brandon Nakashima of the United States 7-6(5) 6-1. Rublev, who trails Sinner 2-5 in their head-to-head duels, will be playing in his 10th quarterfinal this 2024.
