Recently-crowned Citi Open champion Sabastian Korda is in for a tough opening match as he is pitted against Canada’s Vasek Pospisil at the 2024 Montreal Masters. Korda bagged the Citi Open title in Washington after outlasting Flavio Cobolli of Italy in three sets 4-6 6-2 6-0. Sebastian’s father, Petr, won the same tournament 32 years ago. Korda hopes he can maintain his winning streak and make another inspired run to the final of this ATP Masters 1000 event. The 34-year-old Pospisil has spent most of the season playing in Challenge tournaments. The former Wimbledon Open quarterfinalist has yet to win an ATP tournament despite playing in three singles finals. Pospisil will step onto his first-round match with Korda in a rather shaky form as he has lost seven of his last 10 games.
