Scotland play host to Poland in their first Nations League Group A1 game. Both teams had Euro 2024 campaigns to forget, as they crashed out in the group stages without registering a single victory. Scotland will have been especially disappointed with their displays in the tournament, as they conceded seven goals and scored just 2 (one of which was an own goal) in their three games. Meanwhile, Poland fell to late defeats against Austria and the Netherlands before recording a creditable 1-1 draw with France in their final game. These are two very evenly matched teams and we think Thursday's game is likely to end in a low scoring draw. Of course, Scotland will have a partisan Hampden crowd backing them, but they are severely lacking in attacking quality, which makes it hard to see them causing many problems for a resolute Polish defense. Despite having legendary striker Robert Lewandowski in their midst, Poland are also short of attacking flair and we think they will be happy to sit back and settle for a share of the spoilers.
