After a miserable 2024 campaign, the San Jose Earthquakes will be hoping for a big improvement in 2025. Their opening match sees them host a Real Salt Lake side that fell at the first hurdle in the Playoffs last season. Veteran coach Bruce Arena is the new man in the Earthquakes hot seat, and fans will be hoping that he will be able to get the best out of a squad that severely underperformed in 2024.
As for Real, their biggest concern lies in attack. Last season's top scorer Chicho Arango has moved to San Jose, and it is hard to see who will fill the void left behind. In defence, Brazilian keeper Rafael Cabral looks to be a shrewd addition and bolsters an already strong backline.
