The San Francisco Giants (23-25) begin a 6-game road trip Tuesday night. They are in Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates (22-26). The Giants are currently on a 4-game winning streak after sweeping the Rockies over the weekend. In fact, they outscored Colorado 28-10 over the 3-game set. Pittsburgh has won 3 of their last 4 with their latest win being a 3-2 nailbiter in Chicago against the Cubs. Logan Webb (4-4, 3.03) will get the start for the Giants. He is coming off a great start against the Dodgers in which he picked up his 4th win of the season. He went 6 innings and stuck out 5 while giving up just 3 hits and no runs. Martin Perez (1-3, 4.86) of the Pirates will be tasked with keeping this Giants lineup that ranks 8th in the league in combined average in check. He will need to be much better than his last outing. Against the Brewers, he allowed 9 runs on 11 hits. It was Perez’s worst outing of the season. Matt Chapman is one batter that has had Perez’s number over his career. He is hitting .350 with 20 at-bats against him. He will look to continue his hot hitting against him during this series.
