The San Franciso Giants brace for a fight back from the New York Yankees after coming away with a win in a rain-shortened series opener on Friday at Yankee Stadium.
The Giants improved to 10-3 after routing the Yankees on the road, 9-1. San Francisco carried over their hot form from their Game 3 win over the Cincinnati Reds 8-6 as they raced to a 5-0 lead ignited by a three-run homer from Jung Ho Lee in the first inning. The Giants added four more tuns to tally before game officials decided to call in the game because of rain.
As for the Yankees, the loss put them one loss away from sliding to .500 after winning their first three games this season. The Yankees have already amassed 83 runs this season, but their recent slump at the plate has caused New York to average only 2.3 runs per game in their last five games.
