The 20-6 San Francisco Dons are heading into the Kennel to face the 18-7 Gonzaga Bulldogs tonight in a WAC battle. This will be the 1st of two meetings between the teams, as their regular season finale will be the rematch. The Dons have won 6 of their last 7 games, including 4 straight wins. They have held opponents to an average of just 62.5ppg over those 4 wins. Malik Thomas, the senior guard, has been the scoring leader for the Dons. However, he has gone under his scoring average (19.2) in 4 straight games. Marcus Williams has stepped his game up during the same time and has provided the large scoring punch for the Dons. Gonzaga has not been living up to their #6 preseason rank at all this season. Losses to Oregon State and Santa Clara at the beginning of conference play derailed what was a promising season start. The have since won 4 of their last 5 but they will need to run the table and win the conference tournament to get into the good graces of the polls once again. While their offense has continued their strong play, the defense has been lackluster. They are 2nd in the country in points per game (87.2) but allowed 97 points to Oregon State and 103 points to Santa Clara in their bad losses.
