Tommy Edman then came through with two key hustle plays, scoring on a wild pitch in 4th and then driving a run in the 5th inning to give his team a 7-5 lead. On the other hand, rookie hurler Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggled in his postseason debut, throwing five earned runs in 3.0 innings. The Padres might still be punching the air after they could not sustain an early 3-0 lead.
