Major League Soccer newbies San Diego FC will be looking to continue their promising start to the season on Saturday evening. They'll host the Columbus Crew at Snapdragon Stadium, where the hosts are yet to score since joining the MLS, tying their only previous home game 0-0. All in all, it's been a very good start made by the expansion side, with them beginning the campaign with a win away to the 2024 MLS Cup winners, before tying at home, followed by a pleasing away-day success against RSL last time out. They may be new, but clearly, Mikey Varas has put together a useful team, one that can compete at this level. 

For the Crew, who so disappointingly fell at the first hurdle in the playoffs last season, it's also been a great start to the 2025 season. First time out, Saturday's visitors got the better of the Chicago Fire in high-scoring fashion, before delivering a more low-key but solid performance against the New England Revolution, winning by a goal to nil. Last time out in MLS, they tied with Houston, before beating LAFC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup during the week, though they lost the first leg and are now out of that competition. Given that they've had less time to rest and prepare for this game than the hosts, it will be interesting to see how Wilfried Nancy's men perform.
