The Mavericks host the Spurs at the American Airlines Center for the NBA regular season. Last season's runners-up, Dallas are among the favourites to claim the title this year. Luka Doncic, author of an exceptional season, is establishing himself as one of the best players in the league, and few can look him in the eye. With Kyrie Irving at his side, the Mavs will remain a formidable team offensively. What's more, the Texan franchise strengthened during the off-season with the surprising arrival of Klay Thompson from Golden State. A major reinforcement that boosts Dallas' ambitions to go all the way this season.
Last season, the Spurs finished with a dismal record of 22 wins and 60 losses, ranking 14th in the Eastern Conference. Collectively, this season is unlikely to be much brighter for Gregg Popovich's men, although some progress is expected. Victor Wembanyama, author of an excellent rookie season, will try to confirm his enormous potential in order to continue his personal development. The big news this year is the arrival of Chris Paul, who will form a duo with Wemby that promises to be quite dazzling.
