Reilly Opelka, who really is a giant of a player, has played some great stuff at this tournament, showing that he's a far better player in terms of talent than his rank suggests. However, he's had a couple of tough matches in a row now, which isn't ideal given that he's up against a player who has breezed through so far and who reached the final at this venue a year ago.
Alex Michelsen has made light work of beating two lower-ranked players in straight sets and I really do think he should be getting more respect than the early lines suggest. Sure, he's the steady favorite at odds of -133, but let's be honest, youngster Alex Michelsen is a bright spark, especially on grass courts that he has a clear preference for. Personally, I think if Opelka has reached this stage having beaten someone other than an underperfoming Mannarino, then Michelsen would be a much stronger favorite. Ultimately, betting on the younger player to move one step closer to making back-to-back finals in Newport offers some value for money at the early odds. Our Prediction: Alex Michelsen to Win.
