FC Dallas is on the verge of the Play-in and is 10th in the Western Conference and after Wednesday's game they will have two home games where their season will probably be defined.
Real Salt Lake, on the other hand, is 4th in MLS, and earlier this year they had an impressive streak of 15 straight MLS games where they were undefeated. But their form has deteriorated a lot and in fact they have lost 3 of the last 4 games in MLS and two of them by a difference of 2 goals or more.
FC Dallas is coming off a 0-0 draw against the Whitecaps at BC Place. It could be a good thermometer for what could happen this Wednesday, since the Whitecaps are also above FC Dallas in the table and in that last game the Canadian team tripled the shots against FC Dallas.
One of the best MLS games of the current season was precisely the first game played between FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake, which ended with a score of 3-3. FC Dallas had started winning in Texas with 3 goals in less than 15 minutes, and Real Salt Lake would eventually come from behind to tie the game 3-3 in the 98th minute with a goal from Palacio.
