Rangers will look to end a miserable run of five consecutive home defeats, when they host in-form Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final on Thursday evening. Despite that horrendous run of results, Rangers are enjoying a fine season in Europe. In the last 16, they produced their best display of the season to win 1-3 at Fenerbahce in the first leg, before squeaking through on penalties after losing three second leg 2-0. However, they will need to produce an even better display to get past an Athletic side that are among the favorites to win the Europa League.
After finishing second during the league phase of the competition, Athletic produced a stunning second leg display to overturn a 2-1 deficit against Roma in the last 16. Ernesto Valverde's side are also performing very well domestically and currently occupy fourth place in La Liga.
