It is finally here, the biggest game of the NCAA Men’s Basketball season. We began with 68 teams in the tournament and have been left with unquestionably the 2 best teams remaining. The defending champion UConn Huskies, 28-3 on the season, are led by their feisty head coach Dan Hurley. They are comprised of players that defend multiple positions and all are a threat to score. When things are not going great on the offensive end, they always seem to pick up the defense and force timely turnovers. They will be challenged by a 28-3 Purdue Boilermaker team that was guided by Matt Painter who has reached his 1st National Final. He will ride the big man, 7-4 Zach Edey, who was just announced as the back-to-back Naismith Player of the Year once again. He is leading the way all tournament for Purdue with 28ppg and 15.4rpg to go with his 2.0bpg. Purdue uses Edy as a scorer and a way to get their shooters open. Edey is a great passer out of the double teams and the shooters will make the pay.

Purdue - UCONN: Form Analysis
The game within the game is likely to come down to Zach Edey and Donovan Clingan. Both bigs provide so much for their squads and will be an integral part of the success or failure in this final. Edey has yet to face a team with a big man capable of defending him 1 on 1, it is likely that UConn will try to use that strategy in the beginning and if it us unsuccessful, they will be sure to send double-teams whenever he touches the ball. While Edey has become a more mobile player, he still will not be able to keep up with Clingan when running the floor. Look for UConn to try to expose this and get Clingan some easy buckets in transition.
