The first leg will take place this Wednesday from 3 p.m. EST. The Parisians will host the first round at the Parc des Princes. Leader of Ligue 1 and qualified for the final of the Coupe de France, PSG intends to make the best of these Champions League quarter-finals. FC Barcelona are in 2nd place in La Liga and are far from winning a cup under the orders of Xavi. Winner of the Champions Trophy and well on their way to winning Ligue 1, PSG is in the final of the Coupe de France and therefore in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Undefeated for 27 matches in all competitions, the French side will want to continue during this reception of FC Barcelona. PSG did flail in their tie over the weekend against a weaker Clermont side.
FC Barcelona has been far from shining since the start of the season. They are in 2nd place in La Liga but are already 8 points behind Real Madrid. Beaten in the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, the Catalan club only has the Champions League left in this final sprint. Having been able to finish at the top of Group H of the Champions League, with 2 defeats, Barca were able to continue by taking out Napoli in the round of 16. Despite a parity score on the road (1-1), Xavi's men did the job in front of their fans (3-1). However, the situation will be much more complicated during this double confrontation against PSG.

For this quarter-final first leg of the Champions League, PSG will still not be able to count on Sergio Rico and Presnel Kimpembe. Nordi Mukiele was injured against Clermont Foot and remains uncertain for this match. To make matters worse, Achraf Hakimi will be suspended during the first round. Warren Zaire-Emery could therefore take his place as right back. In terms of good news, Bradley Barcola should return from injury. To put himself in the best possible condition before the trip to Barcelona, Luis Enrique will need his stars to shine. Having a great season, Gianluigi Donnarumma will try to shine in the Parisian goal. Up front, Kylian Mbappé (39 goals and 9 assists) and Ousmane Dembélé (1 goal and 13 assists) will be ones to follow very closely as they can make a difference at any time.
Concerning FC Barcelona, we will have to make do with the absences of Alejandro Balde and Gavi. They won't be back by the end of the season. Andreas Christensen and Pedri are still uncertain before this first leg. Frenkie de Jong should indeed be back. He could even start in midfield. Xavi will rely in particular on his young talents to put pressure on the Parisians. Pau Cubarsí has managed to find a place in the central hinge, where he is very solid and Lamine Yamal is brilliant on his wing. Obviously, Barca will also be able to count on their experienced players, including Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker still has 20 goals and 9 assists in all competitions.
