FC Porto didn’t necessarily shine during the group stage of the Europa League. They were likely hoping to fight for a top 8 spot and a direct qualification to the Round of 16. However, the Portuguese club ended up in 18th place. In addition to going through this playoff, they will also have to travel for the second leg.
On the other hand, AS Roma finished slightly higher in the group stage, securing 15th place. This means they will host the second leg. This is a significant advantage for Claudio Ranieri’s side.
