The Western Conference of the MLS is probably more defined than the East with three games left. Timbers and Austin FC will face each other at Jeld-Wen Field, with the former in the play-in zone but with a chance to qualify directly for the MLS playoffs, and the latter practically eliminated.

Austin FC, on the other hand, have only won 1 of 6 games since the Leagues Cup ended. That streak ended their play-off hopes, and there has been almost no progress since last year, as they finished 12th last season and are 11th this season.
