The Rangers are in danger of losing the MLB postseason a year after winning the World Series title. Texas snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday behind Josh Jung’s homer and an infield single that gave his team a 6-5 win over the Twins. Still, the Rangers find themselves 11 games behind the AL West leaders Houston Astros (67-56) and seven games below the second placers Settle Marines (64-61). With only a few weeks remaining in the regular season, the Rangers understand the need to win a big chunk of their remaining games to escape elimination. The Pirates face the same circumstances as the Rangers. At 58-65, Pittsburgh is dead last in the NL Central but not yet mathematically out of the wild card picture since only 2.5 games separate them and the second-placed St. Louis Cardinals. Taking two games in their previous series vs. the Seattle Mariners is a positive sign that things are heading in the right direction for the Pirates.
