The Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets are set to clash at Ball Arena this Friday in a matchup that could highlight the contrasting forms of both teams. The Suns have struggled significantly over the last 15 games, winning only four times in that span. However, they have shown some signs of life recently, going 2-1 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in their last three outings. They secured impressive victories over the New Orleans Pelicans (125-108) and the LA Clippers (119-117), with a disappointing 116-98 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves sandwiched in between.
Phoenix's recent victory over the Clippers was a dramatic one, as they overcame a 23-point second-half deficit. A dominant fourth-quarter performance propelled them to victory, with Kevin Durant leading the charge. Durant finished with 34 points and seven rebounds, while the team knocked down 14 of their 34 three-point attempts. Despite these positive moments, consistency has been a major issue for the Suns.

That game saw the Nuggets hold the Suns to just 38.8% shooting from the field, though Phoenix was missing both Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. Denver also controlled the interior, outscoring the Suns 54-36 in the paint and knocking down 16 of 35 attempts from beyond the arc.
Looking ahead to Friday's contest, Beal is unlikely to play, but Durant will be available. However, Phoenix’s defensive struggles remain a major concern. The Suns rank 27th in the NBA in defensive rating, allowing 117.9 points per 100 possessions. Now, they have to deal with a Denver offense that boasts the second-best offensive rating in the league (120.0 points per 100 possessions).
Given Phoenix’s struggles in the paint and Denver’s rebounding advantage, the Nuggets are in a strong position to take care of business at home.
