The New York Knicks will try to arrest a two-game slide on Wednesday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks continue to struggle against elite teams in the East, losing to the Boston Celtics, 105-108, and Cleveland Cavaliers, 105-142, in their last two games. Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart all scored at least 20 points, but their output was still not enough to outslug the Celtics in a marquee matchup between the top Atlantic Division teams. The Sixers have lost their last eight games and are trending towards the draft lottery in Paul George’s first season in Philadelphia. In the Sixers’ 110-142 loss to the Chicago Bulls, George and Kelly Oubre Jr. dropped 19 points each but life has been hard without Joel Embiid, who is still bothered by his lingering knee injury.
