Oregon vs South Carolina Gamecocks Prediction & Picks - NCAA Basketball
by Dan Angell | in NCAA Basketball Picks
The Oregon Ducks (23-11 SU, 16-18 ATS) look to build off their victory in the Pac-12 tournament in their first round NCAA tournament game against the South Carolina Gamecocks (26-7 SU, 23-10 ATS). Oregon struggled in the early half of the season because of injuries to center N'Faly Dante, but he has really come alive as of late. The Ducks have won four straight, and Dante has achieved at least 14 points and nine rebounds in three of those wins.
Size could be an issue for South Carolina. The Gamecocks don't start anyone taller than 6'8" and rely on everyone for rebounding instead of trusting one or two players with size. The Ducks get help on the glass besides Dante and they're solid shooters.

Our Oregon vs South Carolina Gamecocks Prediction
The Gamecocks don't have either the size or the experience that Oregon brings to the table. The Ducks might have needed a late run to get here, but they've been here before. South Carolina overachieved all year to get into this position, and the Gamecocks might not handle things well now that they're expected to win.
South Carolina plays at a slow pace and takes far too many 3-pointers for a team that doesn't shoot all that well. With Dante in the post to clean things up, the Gamecocks' long misses will likely turn into Duck possessions. If that happens, the Gamecocks won't have much of an answer for former Gamecock Jermaine Cousinard and the rest of Oregon's scorers. Our prediction for Oregon vs. South Carolina: Oregon to win on the moneyline.
