The UCLA Bruins will try to move on to the Elite Eight for just the third time in school history with a win over the Ole Miss Rebels in the final game of the NCAAW Sweet 16, Friday, March 28, at 10 p.m. ET. Fans can enjoy the game on ESPN.
The UCLA men’s program has a long history of success in the NCAA Tournament, but the women’s team has not enjoyed the same success. They’ve made it to the Elite Eight twice, in 1999 and 2018, but have yet to make the Final Four. But they’ve been the No. 1 team in the country for most of the season and one of the favorites to win the national championship. Lauren Betts made school history in UCLA’s second-round win over Richmond by becoming the first player to score 30+ and pull down 10+ rebounds in a Tournament game (30 points, 14 rebounds).
Ole Miss won their first-round matchup vs. Ball State by a comfortable 18-point margin, 83-65. But to make it to the Sweet 16 for the second time in three seasons, they had to upset the No. 4 seed Baylor Bears 69-63.
