The Rockies will be more than happy to finally return to Coors Field to play the Athletics. The Game Total for the first game of the year at altitude in Colorado was set at 9.5 runs. The Rockies started their 2025 season with a 1-5 record, with the worst OBP in MLB, and were swept by the Phillies, whose starting trio of Wheeler, Sanchez, and Walker battered the Colorado offense, which, with three home runs, is the lowest along with the Rays this season.
At least the starters for both teams, Bido for the Athletics and Feltner for the Rockies, had decent outings to start 2025, with Bido being one of two Oakland pitchers to record a W this season. The Aces' start in their temporary home of Sacramento wasn't pleasant, with pitching that gave them no chance of winning any of the games against the Cubs, allowing 18 runs in Game 1 and 10 in Game 3.
After a slow start, Rooker, who struck out 10 times in 30 plate appearances, was still able to have a strong series in Sacramento. Booker has already struck out three times this season and driven in three runs.
