Alcaraz, the No.2 seed in the ATP Masters Series finale, got an outright spot in the second round after receiving a first-round bye by virtue of his position of the ATP World Rankings. Meanwhile, Jarry hopes he salvages his sixth career win over a top-5 player against Alcaraz on Tuesday. In the opening round, the 37th-ranked Chilean hurdled his first test by beating Lorenzo Sonego 7-6(4) 6-3. Jarry won 35 points on his first serve and added 20 more on his second serve to secure his place in the next round of this ATP 1000 event.
