The Yankees continued to showcase their championship pedigree as they found a way to outslug the Guardians once more en route to a 6-3 win in Game 2. Leading American League MVP candidate Aaron Judge showed why he’s the best big bat in modern baseball, giving the Yankees a 3-0 lead with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and then killing the Guardians’ momentum with a two-run blast in the 7th inning. Starter Gerrit Cole allowed two earned runs and walked four in 4.1 innings, but the Yankees bullpen stepped up again as relief pitchers Clay Holmes, Tommy Kahnle, and closer Luke Weaver held the Guardians to just one run through the next five innings to seal the win.
