The New York Mets target their third win in four games as they visit the Minnesota Twins for a three-game series at Target Field on Monday.
The Mets came away on top of their weekend series with the Oakland Athletics after shutting them down 8-0 on Sunday. New York continued to showcase their impeccable pitching as starter Kodai Senga took a four hitter into the seventh inning before the bullpen closed out the A’s. The Mets will enter the series with the Twins with a 2.30 ERA – No.1 in the MLB.
The Twins snapped a three-game skid with a 5-1 win over the Detroit Tigers. Minnesota, who is batting 3.5 runs per game on a .208 batting average this season, scored five runs against a solid starter in Casey Mize while their own starter Simeon Woods Richardson surrendered only earned run in five innings. Minnesota sits fourth in the American League Central with a 5-11 record.
