The New York Mets will try to sustain their hot run as they enter a new three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Friday at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Mets have been on a roll the past few weeks, winning 11 of their last 14 games to bump up their overall record to 35-38. New York may have missed the chance of sweeping the defending champs, Texas Rangers, after dropping the game 5-3 in the series-finale, but there’s no doubt they will march into the Wrigley Field as one of the hottest MLB teams this June. The Cubs, meanwhile, came out on top of the San Diego Padres in their three-game series after winning the last two games, including a 6-5 nail-bitter in the series-finale. Chicago are still fourth in the NL Central standings with a 36-39, though they are just eight games behind the division leader, Milwaukee Brewers (44-31). The Mets will be fielding lefty Jose Quintana (2-5, 4.98 ERA with 50 strikeouts) to go up against the Cubs’ own lefty Shota Imanaga (7-1, 1.89 ERA with 78 strikeouts).
