They will now meet at Chase Center on back-to-back days in the 2024-25 season, with the Warriors favored to win by just 2.5 points after beating the Pelicans in the first game 124-106. Prior to this series, the Pelicans played a two-game series against the Trail Blazers, winning the first but losing the second.
Williamson led New Orleans in scoring against the Warriors on Tuesday with 31 points, while Ingram followed with another 30. However, between those two players they combined to generate as many as 10 turnovers, with the Pelicans recording 24 total turnovers. This resulted in the Warriors having a lower shooting percentage, but they built up a comfortable lead thanks to the 23 extra shots they were able to take over the Pelicans. The Warriors also took advantage of the Pelicans' low free throw percentage of 70.8% and the fact that they made 12 more three-pointers than their opponents.
On Tuesday, five Warriors players scored 17 or more points, including 21 by Waters III, who also recorded 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Waters III also received praise from Warriors coach Kerr, who said the game flows whenever he is on the court.
