Gunnar Nelson (19-5-1) will take on fan-favorite Kevin Holland (26-13-0) at UFC Fight Night in London on Friday night. Nelson comes into this matchup as the -127 betting favorite after winning his last two assignments. The Icelandic fighter defeated Takashi Sato in March 2022 via a unanimous decision before flooring Bryan Barberena in March 2023. ‘Gunni’ boasts a strong karate and BJJ background, making him a dangerous opponent in the Octagon.
Kevin Holland, on the other hand, is a famous fighter from the United States. ‘Trailblazer’ comes into this fight with a strong Kung Fu background, although his recent form has been wanting. The 32-year-old has lost his last two fights against Reinier de Ridder (rear-naked choke) and Roman Dolidze (KO/TKO). Even more disappointing is that his previous two losses were all in the first round. He will certainly look to do better on Friday night against Nelson.

Nelson is a strong contender here, thanks to his strong grappling and submission skills. In fact, he has the most submission wins in the welterweight division. However, Nelson hasn’t fought since March 2023, and his ring rust could be a concern against an aggressive striker like Kevin.
