Mirra Andreeva vs Elina Svitolina Prediction & Picks - WTA Indian Wells

For those WTA players still involved in the action in Indian Wells, it's time to get very serious on Friday, which is when the quarter-finals take place. One of the last four matches sees teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva take on Elina Svitolina go head-to-head. 

Having recently secured her first WTA title, winning the Dubai Tennis Championships, there's a real sense that the floodgates are about to open for Mirra Andreeva, who looks all set to start racking up the tournament wins. She's through to the last eight in Indian Wells, and to be honest, given the level of tennis that the 17-year-old has displayed, it would be disappointing if she doesn't go close. If anyone is going to beat Iga Swiatek right now, then it's probably Andreeva, who has shown more than enough to suggest that she can make it beyond Svitolina and set up an exciting semi-final against the world number two. 

For Elina Svitolina, this is also a big opportunity. The Ukrainian will know just how strong Andreeva is, but she too has shown some decent form of late, beating both Collins and Pegula at this tournament. The question is will she have enough left in the locker after a tough match last time out? Personally, I doubt it.
