The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to get back on the right side of the scoreboard tonight when they take on the Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.ET. Memphis opened as a 4-point favorite, but the line has shifted to 3.5 points at some sportsbooks.
Minnesota hosted Memphis at the Target Center just a few days ago on Jan. 11. The Timberwolves were 1.5-point favorites in that game but ended up losing to the Grizzlies 127-125. They took a four-point lead into the fourth quarter and led by six, 119-113, late in the period. Memphis closed to within two, 125-123, with about a minute and a half left. A pair of baskets by Ja Morant locked down the win for Memphis.
Morant is questionable for this game. The Grizzlies have already ruled out Cam Spencer, Marcus Smart, Vince Williams Jr., and GG Jackson II. Minnesota will not have Terrence Shannon Jr. available, and Donte DiVincenzo is considered day-to-day.
Both teams have gone 5-5 in their last ten games. But while Minnesota is coming off a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis won its last two (both vs. the Spurs in San Antonio).
