The Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers clash today in Game 5 of their NBA playoff series at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. With a 3-1 series lead, the Pacers are eyeing a trip to the second round for the second consecutive year — a feat they haven’t accomplished since the 2013-14 season.
Indiana comes into this matchup with momentum after thoroughly dismantling Milwaukee in Game 4, 129-103. The Bucks not only suffered a blowout loss but also lost star guard Damian Lillard to a devastating Achilles injury late in the first quarter, compounding their struggles.
Without Lillard, Milwaukee was unable to mount any real comeback. The Bucks' defense faltered badly, allowing the Pacers to shoot a scorching 60.2% from the field and knock down 18 three-pointers.
Indiana also dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Bucks by eight and racking up significant advantages in both fast-break points and points in the paint. The loss exposed Milwaukee’s defensive vulnerabilities, which Indiana’s high-tempo offense was quick to exploit.
