Michigan State (24-5) is currently 8th in the country and sealed up the Big 10 regular season title with Michigan losing on Wednesday night. They are currently slated as a 2 seed according to the latest bracketology and that is likely to be their ceiling as the 1 seed teams are a bit ahead of this Spartans team. They have won their last 5 games after suffering a bad home loss to Indiana back on February 11th. Their last 4 wins all came against ranked teams and proved once again that an Izzo led team is clicking on all cylinders heading into March. Tonight, they face an Iowa Hawkeyes (15-14) team that has lost 10 of their last 13 games. The only chance this Iowa team has of making the NCAA tournament would be winning the Big 10 conference tournament. Lately, their leading scorer Payton Sandfort, has been anything but a top scorer. He has shot just 5-23 for 16 total points in the Hawkeyes’ last 2 games. Without him putting up decent numbers, this Iowa team struggles tremendously on the offensive end.
