They jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the 2nd inning and never looked back. Jake Burger and Jesus Sanchez each homered and drove in 2 runs each in the win. Tonight, they begin a short 2-game set in Philadelphia to face the Phillies (69-49). Philly has been struggling this month and are coming home after losing 3 of 4 to the Diamondbacks in Arizona, including 3 straight losses. They were outscored in the last 2 games against Arizona by a combined 17 runs. They still hold a 7-game lead in the NL East but this Philly team does not look the same since the All-Star break. Tonight, they will start Taijuan Walker (3-3, 5.60) who will be making his 1st start since coming back from the IL. For the Marlins, they will turn to Valente Bellozo (1-1, 3.05) who is coming off 5 innings of shutout work against the Cincinnati Reds in his last start. The Phillies and Marlins split their last series which was 4-games as they traded wins for losses.

While Bellozo is coming off his best start of his young career, this Phillies lineup should be able to use their ability to produce runs and get to him early in this game. Walker looked horrendous before landing on the IL and with this being his 1st start, he will be limited in the number of innings he pitches. This one should have no problem reaching double digits.
