The Miami Marlins face the Philadelphia Phillies on the road this weekend as we approach the halfway point of the MLB season. A check-in at the top would indicate the Phillies are the favorites to hoist the golden flagged trophy at the end of October. Philadelphia boasts an MLB-leading 52-27 record, on pace for 107 wins. If they are to reach the century mark, it would be their first 100+ win season since 2011, back in their heyday with Roy Halladay at the helm. This Friday, it will be Cristopher Sanchez, the southpaw who has done well for Philadelphia as the 4th man in a stacked rotation. Sanchez is 5-3 on the year with a very strong 2.67 ERA along with 70 strikeouts. Miami will strut out Kyle Tyler, who first made his debut for the Angels back in 2021 before bouncing around the minors and majors. Shutting down this elite Philadelphia offense will be a tall task for the young right-hander, who are 33-13 against righties.
