The Miami Heat (29-37, 13-20 away) will try to get back on the right side of the scoreboard tonight when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies (42-25, 24-11 home). This is the first of two games between the Heat and Grizzlies this season; the second is scheduled for April 3 in Miami.
Miami would love this to be the game where the bleeding stops, and things get turned around. With Friday night’s 103-91 loss to the Boston Celtics at home, the Heat have lost six in a row, five of them at home. Their defense has certainly let them down during this stretch, giving up 100+ points every night and 110+ in three of them. However, they were competitive in most of them, losing by five to the Cavs, by two to Minnesota, by five to the Bulls, and by three to the Hornets. The other two losses were by double digits.
As for Memphis, they are coming off a loss to the Cavaliers Friday night, 133-124, but won four in a row prior to that. The Grizzlies head back to the road after this for a five-game road trip. Ja Morant has led the team in scoring in five of the last six games.
