Mattia Bellucci of Italy and Christopher Eubanks of the United States will play each other in easily the most intriguing match in the qualifying phase of the 2025 Acapulco Open on Saturday. Bellucci will try to follow up his semifinal run at the 2025 Rotterdam Open with another prolific campaign in Acapulco. In his last tournament, the Italian went on a rampage as he racked up five consecutives wins, including huge upsets over Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-4 6-2 and Daniil Medvedev of Russia 6-3 6-7(6) 6-3. He only won three games against Alex De Minaur of Australia in his semifinal match, but it was nevertheless a successful run for the up-and-coming Italian. Eubanks has lost three of his last five matches and had difficulty advancing past the second round this year. A former top-30 players, Eubanks has nosedived outside the ATP Top-100 because of subpar results in previous tournaments. He’s now sitting at No.104.
