The Maryland Terrapins will try to defeat the Oregon Ducks for the first time in school history when they face off against their Big Ten foe in Eugene, OR, tonight at the Matthew Knight Arena. Maryland enters the game ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and a 1.5-point road favorite.
Maryland's season got off to a really strong start this year. The Terrapins went undefeated in non-conference play (9-0) and got their conference schedule off on the right foot with five consecutive wins (14-0, 5-0). But then they faced then-No. 4 USC on Jan. 8, and it's been downhill ever since. They lost that game 79-74. They followed that game with a pair of wins but have gone 1-4 in their last five games (three of those losses came vs. ranked teams). Oregon's start to the season wasn't as strong as Maryland's. They got off to a slow start in conference play, dropping three of their first six games. But since the third loss, vs. Ohio State on Jan. 12, the Ducks went 4-1. However, the loss came in their last game (Feb. 2), and it was a whopper—80-48 vs. Michigan.

If they can shake that loss off, they should be able to take down the visiting Terrapins at home.
